"As per Iranian Government request," he wrote on Truth Social, "talks are ongoing and going very well." It is the second consecutive extension. The first was five days, announced last Monday. Each extension is presented as a gesture of peace. Each extension confirms the original threat was not carried out.

Iran responded to the 15-point American plan through Pakistani intermediaries with a five-condition counterproposal: end of aggression, guarantees of non-recurrence, payment of reparations, cessation on all fronts including allied groups, and recognition of sovereignty over Hormuz. Tasnim reported that Iran is awaiting Washington's reply. Araghchi said Tehran chooses "resistance" and will end the war "on its own terms".

Meanwhile, Israel announced a "wave of extensive strikes" on Iran and Katz vowed no let-up. Israel said it killed the head of the IRGC navy in Isfahan. Iran fired two rounds of missiles at central Israel, one striking a street in Tel Aviv. Trump's moratorium applies to energy infrastructure, not to the bombing. The war continues. What is being negotiated, if anything is being negotiated at all, is the scope of the destruction, not its end.
